We saw a display of thuggery and racist rhetoric by MP Andreas Themistokleous and far-right ELAM in Parliament yesterday, AKEL points out.

Speaking to ‘Astra’ radio, AKEL C.C. Spokesperson Giorgos Koukoumas underlined that those forces and circles who, instead of denouncing these actions, simply talk about how low the level of parliament has stooped, are acquitting the fascists with their attitude. G.Koukoumas noted that what was heard on the part of the DIKO MP’s facilitated Mr. Themistokleous.

The AKEL Spokesperson pointed out that even the Speaker of the House of Representatives

did not stop the racist rhetoric expressed yesterday, which is a criminal offence, but only AKEL reacted.

Regarding the law approved on sex education in primary and secondary education, G.Koukoumas described the claims of unconstitutionality as a pretext and stressed that there is misinformation about what the relevant proposal contains.
