The peoples will pay for the unbalanced US-EU trade agreement

The blatantly unbalanced US-EU trade agreement concluded by Ursula von der Leyen and Donald Trump amounts to a disorderly retreat by the EU leadership in the face of the threats that were issued by the US government, which is using trade and tariff policy as a weapon to strengthen the global hegemony of the US.
This agreement will drastically deepen the inequality in US-EU economic and political relations, which will be paid for by the economies and, ultimately, the peoples of the EU member states. The commitment to European markets by the US military-industrial complex, worth tens of billions of euros, is part of the escalating militarization of the EU and the preparation for a direct military confrontation with Russia.
The President of the European Commission not only failed to use any means of response to Trump’s threats, but is now attempting to portray the agreement as a “guarantee of stability.” This development confirms that Ursula von der Leyen and the policies she represents are damaging and undermining the interests of Europe and its peoples. It also confirms that the prevailing view in the EU on relations with the US, headed by the European right wing of the EPP, which controls the EU’s key institutions, is one of subservience and submission, at a time when the US is openly sliding towards authoritarianism.
