AKEL visits enclaved people and Karpasia schools in occupied areas

rizokarpaso cprA delegation of AKEL headed by the member of the Political Bureau and AKEL MP Georgos Loucaides visited on Wednesday 01/13/16 the enclaved people in the villages of Ayia Triada, Rizokarpaso, the Primary School and Secondary School of Rizokarpaso.

The AKEL delegation was warmly welcomed by the enclaved people and cut the New Year cake in the villages of Ayia Triada and in Rizokarpaso. Georgos Loucaides informed them about the developments on the Cyprus problem and assured them that AKEL will continue to struggle for the solution of the Cyprus problem and the reunification of our country and people. He also discussed with them the specific problems they face, mainly regarding the need to implement the housing maintenance program that had been repaired in the past.

The AKEL delegation also visited the Primary School and the Rizokarpaso Gymnasium where it had the opportunity to express to the school pupils and School Boards the readiness of the Party to continue supporting the efforts to ensure the provision of quality education to the children of the enclave people in the occupied areas, but also for the granting of all the necessary materials to the children in order to have equal opportunities in education. The delegation handed out to all the pupils of both schools symbolic gifts and expressed the wish that the New Year will bring to Cyprus and its people vindication and the desired solution.

George Loucaides was accompanied in the visit, by the Central Organizational Secretary of AKEL Christos Alekou, the AKEL Famagusta Members of Parliament Skevi Koukouma, Christakis Tziovanis, the AKEL Famagusta District Secretary Chrysanthos Zannettos and other militants of AKEL of the Famagusta District.
