DISY is the last one who can deliver lectures on the Cyprus problem

DISY is the last one who can deliver lectures on the Cyprus problem not being sacrificed for the sake of pre-election expediencies. Many times in the past, most recently during the last presidential election, DISY sacrificed the Cyprus problem and the prospects of achieving a solution for petty-political and party expediencies and considerations.

AKEL has no need of any such lectures. During the current election campaign, AKEL will not be drawn into making demagogic approaches. AKEL will continue with the same steadfastness and responsibility to work to reach a solution based on its timeless and long-standing positions.

If only a solution to the Cyprus problem is achieved on the basis of principles and the agreed framework, and we would be the first to celebrate. However in view of the forthcoming parliamentary elections, we are obliged to prepare ourselves for these elections.
