We call on citizens to go to the polls and vote consciously

Statement by the General Secretary of AKEL Stefanos Stefanou

Tomorrow is a crucial moment for democracy. We have two elections for two very important institutions. One for local government and the other for the European Parliament.

We call on people to go to the polling stations and vote because voting is very important as through it we can determine many things that we want in our lives. We call on people to go to the polling booths and vote consciously. To vote for all the things they want in their lives and for all the things they want to assert for their lives.

I wish citizens a good vote. I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the work that has been done all through this period and especially to thank the AKEL candidates for the European Parliament who are here with me today, over a morning coffee, relaxed, to herald tomorrow’s day of democracy.

Let us make sure that tomorrow really is a celebration of democracy with our conscious vote.
