The two DISY presidential candidates must give answers

The ruling DISY Democratic Rally party has decided on its own that the surveillance/wiretapping case has been exhausted, at the same time as new revelations link DISY President/presidential candidate Averof Neophytou yet again and directly with the well-known Israeli spies. In other words, at time when the visit of the European Parliament’s special Committee investigating the surveillance/wiretapping issue is about to arrive in Cyprus, Averof Neophytou claims that there is no issue at all.
On his part, Nikos Christodoulides avoids talking about the allegations made by a former adviser to the President of the Republic about surveillance being carried out with the knowledge of Nicos Anastasiades himself. In the same way, apparently, that he has decided that he will not respond to the issue regarding the unethical practices of setting up fake social media accounts that weigh on him.
The mere fact that the two DISY candidates refuse to talk about issues that concern them as the outgoing government and personally says a lot. Averof and Christodoulides would be well advised to understand that the issue of surveillance, spy software and the wiretapping network will not be closed because they conjure it with their silence. Rahter, the whole case is now opening up. And it is imperative that answers are given to society.
