The ruling DISY party confirms that it is living in another world

It’s the ceiling on prices and price hikes/high cost of living that has been shattered, but the ruling DISY party confirms that it is living in another world

Eurostat figures released yesterday confirmed that prices in Cyprus are rising at five times the rate across the EU, but the President and the ruling DISY party cant make sense of the situation. Since 2015, the study carried out by the government itself showed that as far as the fuel sector in Cyprus is concerned there conditions for competition do not operate, but other than that they wonder where the cartels are and profiteering is taking place.

Instead of replying to AKEL, the government and ruling DISY party should give an answer to the Cypriot people, who are suffering from price increases/hikes.

They should give an answer as to why they do not accept the bill proposals AKEL has tabled for the reduction of double taxation and for the introduction of a cap on fuel.

They should give an answer as to what their position is on the Cost of Living Allowance: should it be fully restored and extended to cover all working people? They should give a reply – yes or no?

They should also express their position on the universal demand supported by society for VAT to be reduced on essential goods and electricity.
