The fiery ordeal that mountainous Limassol is going through requires the solidarity of all of Cyprus.
To this end, AKEL and the organizations of the Popular Movement announce the following as their first actions:
– PEO has already announced that its rest houses in Pelendri are being made available immediately to the Civil Defense and Community Authorities to accommodate residents.
– A center for the collection of essential items to support families in need has been operating at the PEO in Limassol since this morning.
– The volunteer firefighting teams set up by AKEL are at the disposal of the authorities to assist in the effort to extinguish the fires.
– AKEL officials are already in the affected areas, in consultation with community leaders, to record the damage and the needs of residents so that the state can respond immediately and fully.
