The Left is against policies that victimise the environment

World Environment Day doesn’t just call on us to raise our awareness of the environment. It urges us to act for the environment. Particularly now that the planet is facing a severe and big environmental crisis that is threatening life on Earth and human civilisation.

World Environment Day calls on us to act against those interests and policies that victimize the environment for the sake of profit and its maximization.

The Left, by its very nature, is ecological. By its very nature, it opposes policies and interests that victimise the environment.

By pursuing this approach, AKEL is the force of assertion for policies that promote sustainability, for policies that support and strengthen the environment.

The Left is working as a force of assertion in Cyprus and Europe so that we can change things in the crucial area of the environment, in local government and in the European Parliament.

For that very reason we are called upon to develop our actions to save our planet!
