The European Right of the EPP Group is systematically acting against Cyprus’ interests

If DISY party believes that by launching an anti-AKEL campaign it will stop its own voter’s defection to the far-right party of ELAM, then we will let it continue its diligent effort. We would like to point out, however, in a friendly manner, that exasperation and panic in general are of no use. Nor do they need to waste their time to prove that we disagree and differ on our own vision of Europe. That is given because DISY wants an EU that accumulates staggering inequalities in European societies. DISY wants an EU that is totally submissive to NATO and the arms industries. We want a fundamentally different, social, peaceful and democratic Europe.

But before preaching to others, DISY must provide an answer as to why the party of the European Right, namely the European People’s Party EPP, is systematically acting against the interests of Cyprus and our people. Every Cypriot who will vote for DISY, will at the same time be strengthening in the European Parliament the political force that:

• Promotes the abolition of the veto which will permanently silence small member states like Cyprus
• Votes against the imposition of an arms embargo on Turkey
• Prevents the distribution of refugees among member states according to their population, as the Republic of Cyprus is asserting.

Now is the time to protect Cyprus’ interests and voice in Europe. This is guaranteed by voting for AKEL – Left – Social Alliance and strengthening the Left in Europe.
