The General Secretary of AKEL in an open discussion with youth organizations and NGO’s

For AKEL, young people and the problems they face have always been a key priority. AKEL has always listened to the young generation’s positions, proposals and priorities. For this reason, an open discussion took place yesterday between the General Secretary of AKEL Andros Kyprianou and youth organizations/movements and non-governmental organizations.
In the rich and free dialogue that took place, we heard young people’s concerns, proposals and suggestions. The discussion was meaningful and at the same time hopeful.
AKEL with the activities and initiatives over the last five years, both inside and outside parliament, has demonstrated in practice its support towards young people, since most of the views heard in the discussion converge with our positions and proposals.
Having in mind what the representatives of the youth movements/agencies highlighted before the General Secretary of AKEL, the young generation demonstrated that they do have a say, a role and a well-substantiated point of view. As far as AKEL is concerned, we shall continue to stand on the side of the young generation. We will continue to listen and give a podium to young people to express their opinions. We shall continue to defend the common demand for progress and prosperity for the youth, but also for society as a whole.
