The attempt to “cleanse” the destroyer of Cyprus Grivas will not pass!

Forty-three years after the great betrayal of our country committed by the coup d’état of the fascist EOKA B organization and the Greek Junta, which gave the pretext for the Turkish invasion, the governing DISY party, the fascist ELAM party, “Solidarity” and the “Citizen’s Alliance” party of Mr. Lillikas continue to provoke the Cypriot people. The decision taken by the Limassol Municipal Council to erect a monument to honor Grivas is unacceptable, condemnable and constitutes a severe provocation to the people.
For forty-three years the extreme-right has been trying to “vindicate” the great betrayal committed; to “cleanse” and exonerate the destroyer of Cyprus, Grivas. They denounce others of “clinging to the past”, but they themselves have been provoking the people for forty-three years, given that they insist on pouring vinegar into the wounds of the people.
They are provoking the thousands of relatives of the fallen and missing persons. They are provoking the thousands of refugees. They are provoking the hundreds of anti-fascist resistance fighters. They are abusing and insulting the memory of all those who sacrificed their lives for freedom and democracy.
They should be ashamed of themselves!
The attempt to justify and vindicate the betrayal, the effort to “cleanse” the destroyer and to rape the memory of the people; the attempt to excuse the spectrum/faction and all those responsible for the tragedy will not pass.
