Telephone conversation between the General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL and Stefanos Kasselakis

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, had a telephone conversation this morning with the new President of SYRIZA, Stefanos Kasselakis. Stefanos Stefanou congratulated Mr. Kasselakis on his election and wished him every success in his duties for the benefit of the Greek people, the workers and the young generation of Greece.

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL underlined the enormous importance of the solidarity of the political leadership and the people of Greece in the struggle Cyprus is waging to put an end to the occupation and division, for the liberation and reunification of Cyprus through the solution of a bizonal, bicommunal federation with political equality. S.Stefanou also referred to the cooperation and bilateral relations between the two parties.

On his part, Stefanos Kasselakis thanked AKEL for its good wishes and informed it of his intention to pay a visit to Cyprus in the near future to have contacts with the political leadership of our country.
