AKEL meeting with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAC)

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL Stefanos Stefanou and a delegation of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAC) of Cyprus, headed by the Institute’s President Nikos Himarides, discussed developments in the financial sector, the challenges and prospects of the Cyprus economy.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the issue of tax reform. The General Secretary of AKEL noted that the reform is a necessity for the country’s economy.

A comprehensive approach, he stressed, is imperative. “We need a reform that is socially fair and fiscally effective, which leads to a substantive simplification of existing procedures.” AKEL, S.Stefanou concluded, is ready to contribute to this effort by submitting proposals.

The AKEL delegation included AKEL MP Aristos Damianou and the Head of the party’s Economy Policy, Charis Polycarpou.
