Price increases are crushing – Immediate measures right now

Price increases and the high cost of living is gnawing away at the living standards of Cypriots. Increases have snowballed, from food to electricity, fuel and bank charges. At the same time, wages, pensions and social benefits remain stagnant.

The government and the ruling DISY party are indifferent. They have no idea what the majority of society is going through. They do not want to clash with big private interests, big business and profiteering. And above all, in the face of the cry of anguish of society and small and medium-sized businesses, the government ruling forces are insisting that they have nothing to announce.

AKEL is raising a social shield against price increases. On Saturday, 26 February, it will once again take to the streets demanding immediate measures to protect society.
