New questions for the government and DISY to answer on the wiretapping and surveillance scandal

Every day new questions arise for the government and the ruling DISY party to answer in relation to the sinister and dangerous case of surveillance and wiretapping.
- Why does the Attorney General’s Office insist on not releasing the findings of the Elias Stefanou report on the black spy van case? This would be much more useful if it were confident of its handling of the case instead of complaining over the criticism of its acquittal of Dillian.
- Who do the government ruling forces think they are fooling when the ruling DISY party states in all seriousness that it was Averof Neofytou’s private secretary who single-handedly forwarded the Israelis’ email to the Ministry of Trade to promote their business? When will DISY and its President tell the whole truth about their ties with the notorious Israeli agents and their role in the expansion of the wiretapping network to Greece?
- What must the citizens of Cyprus think when the Chief of Police himself was unaware that sections of the Police Force were collaborating professionally with the Israeli agents?
Cyprus during the period of the DISY administration was turned into a free-for-all country for former and current agents of Israel using it as a base for the production and export of malicious spy software which infected our country, Greece and possibly others.
DISY does not provide any answers. It sees ghosts and enemies. It is trying to turn the issue into a petty-party confrontation. However, the actions of such sinister networks of surveillance and interception is dangerous for the rule of law, democracy, Cyprus’ national security and, of course, for the human rights of each and every citizen. No matter how many obstacles certain forces and circles raise, AKEL will insist that we must know the whole truth about this network and eradicate it.
