Israel’s killing machine does not understand wishful thinking and the issuing of appeals

Israel is continuing its genocide, war crimes and the crimes committed against humanity against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip by once again attacking schools, refugee camps and the distribution of food. At the same time, the violence being exerted by the occupying forces in the West Bank continues, while the Netanyahu government is pushing for an expansion of the war into Lebanon. In the face of this barbarity, the provision of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population – thinly – is obviously being used by the EU and the US as a flimsy excuse and an alibi, given that these very same powers are continuing to support Israel and Netanyahu who are spreading death and causing the impoverishment of the Palestinians.

The European Union, whose leaders are meeting today, is not even discussing the possibility of imposing sanctions, an arms embargo and the suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement. These actions, even belatedly, should have been the EU’s decisions. Israel’s killing machine does not understand any wishful thinking and the issuing of appeals, even more so when they are completely hypocritical.

AKEL once again calls on the Christodoulides government to take a position denouncing the genocide being committed by Israel, ensuring that Cyprus is not involved in any way whatsoever in the ongoing war and it should raise in a decisive manner with the British government the issue of the involvement of the British bases in Israel’s war operations, which greatly increases the dangers for our people.
