Government appointed and tolerates the unacceptable way majority of English School board operates and acts
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 28th August 2015, Nicosia
AKEL condemns as political the motives of the majority of the Board members of the English School, in relation to the conspiracy and imposition of a penalty against the Deputy Head of the School.
This is all about a vindictive act taken against a person with particular sensitivities, intense activity and initiatives assumed for the introduction of good practices with regards the inclusion of the Turkish Cypriot students in the English School.
What preceded the imposition of the penalty of dismissal, but also the various other actions related to the presence of Turkish Cypriot students, confirm the nationalist and vindictive motives of the majority of the Board members of the English School.
The government has serious responsibilities too for this development, which not only appointed, but is also tolerating the unacceptable way in which the English School operates and the majority of the Board of the School acts.
The Parliamentary Group of AKEL will propose that an ex officio examination to the competent Parliamentary Committee of Education.
