For AKEL the procedure, not just the substance, is of upmost importance
Statement of the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL Andros Kyprianou after meeting the British High Commissioner
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 16th December 2016, Nicosia
We had a very productive meeting with the British High Commissioner in relation to the present phase of the Cyprus problem and the ongoing procedure. We exchanged views both with regards the substance of the issues, as well as on the procedure that should be followed.
I would like to reiterate that for AKEL the procedure too, not just the substance, is of upmost importance. As far as the substance is concerned, we have reiterated the positions AKEL has been expressing for many years on the issues of security and territory, as well as on property and the issues related to executive power. Our positions are very clear. We stress them in all the meetings we have. We believe it is important that everyone who has a role to play in the developments surrounding the Cyprus problem should know them, namely that they know where each political party stands on these important issues.
