Finance Minister understands only what Schaeuble understands
Statement of Georgos Loucaides, AKEL C.C. Spokesperson
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 19th February 2015, Nicosia
The Cyprus Minister of Finance Haris Georgiades reiterated in his statements yesterday that he did not understand what the Greek government’s positions were in the Eurogroup meeting on Monday.
However, Mr. Georgiades must explain to the people precisely what he didn’t understand.
– Has the Minister of Finance understood that Eurogroup Chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem, speaking on behalf of the 18 EU Ministers and therefore on his behalf as well, presented a blackmail ultimatum to Greece that by Friday it must accept the continuation of the program rejected the Greek people?
– Has the Minister of Finance understood that there was a second text on behalf of European Union Economic Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici that was accepted by the Greek side?
– Has the Minister of Finance understood that Eurogroup Chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem had submitted on behalf of the 18 another text, which Greece rejected?
– What is it that President Anastasiades understood and provided support to Greek Prime Minister Tsipras at the last European Council, but which the Minister of Finance Haris Georgiades has not understood in the two Eurogroup meetings he participated where the decisions are taken?
– How comes Mr. Georgiades in the end understands only what Germany’s Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble understands?
Do citizens perhaps need to realise that certain people are not telling them the truth?
