Everyone in the end will be judged by their seriousness and credibility

AKEL C.C. Press Office, 15th May 2017, Nicosia

It is obvious that the DIKO, EDEK and “Solidarity” parties that are cooperating to support candidacy of N. Papadopoulos like conspiracy theories.

How else can their “discovery” be explained that from an interview given by the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL ones draws the conclusion that secret meetings took place between N. Anastasiades and A. Kyprianou? The only logical explanation is that they themselves decide that there has been a conspiracy and then they themselves denounced it. They in all probability judge others by their own standards.

Regarding the substance of the issue, an AKEL delegation headed by the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL met with Mr. Anastasiades, in private, sometimes. If these parties were interested in the truth, they would have seen in the very same interview that the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL urged Mr. Anastasiades “not to even think about saying that AKEL put pressure on him to make concessions on issues of principle. What AKEL wants to say, it does so in public. It has no problem whatsoever in expressing its position boldly and courageously in front of the Cypriot people. We have not said nothing less, nothing more to Mr. Anastasiades.”

All this was preceded the reference cited by DIKO, EDEK and “Solidarity”. But they are obviously not interested in the truth. They like to create false impressions just to seek to gain a few votes. They forget that everyone in the end will be judged BY their seriousness and credibility.

We leave them to the judgment of the people.
