The Bureau of the Group of the Left in the European Parliament (GUE/NGL) is convening in Cyprus

The Bureau of the Political Group of the European United Left-Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) in the European Parliament will convene in Cyprus, Friday 4th December. The Bureau of GUE/NGL is convening in Cyprus to be briefed and to discuss the developments surrounding the Cyprus problem.
On Friday 4th December at 9 a.m. Andros Kyprianou, General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL, will brief the GUE/NGL Bureau about the current situation on the Cyprus problem and the perspectives for achieving a solution. The President of GUE/NGL Gabi Zimmer will address the session, whilst the Irish Member of the European Parliament Martina Anderson will also make an intervention. At 10:15 a.m. the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL and the President of GUE/NGL will hold a press conference at the Hilton Park Hotel Nicosia where the deliberations of the session will take place.
It should be noted that apart from the MEP’s of AKEL, GUE/NGL MEP’S from Greece, Portugal, Spain, Ireland and Germany will participate in the session of the Bureau. Within the framework of their visit to Cyprus, the GUE/NGL MEP’s will visit the Anthropological Laboratory of the Investigation Committee of the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP) and the Green Line in Nicosia.
