AKEL considers as useful and beneficial the utilization of all opportunities and possibilities for promoting the internationalization of the Cyprus problem and presenting the positions of our side on the various aspects of our political problem as useful and beneficial.

AKEL considers the United Nations Secretary-General’s personal involvement and his verbal briefing on the ongoing negotiation procedure also beneficial.

The essence of this effort of ours always involved the extent that we succeed in channeling international interest in favour of our positions and for interventions in the direction of Ankara so that Turkey agrees to a just, viable and workable solution of the Cyprus problem, based on International Law, the acquis communautaire and the decisions and resolutions of the United Nations on Cyprus.
