AKEL MP A.Damianou on the spy van case: The case was covered up – They don’t want citizens to know what happened

18 November 2021, ‘Astra’ radio

It is obvious that the authorities do not want citizens to know what exactly happened with the spy van, AKEL MP Aristos Damianou told ‘Astra’ radio station.

Speaking to the morning edition, Aristos Damianou said that either through incompetence or seeking to serve expediencies, the case was covered up by the suspension of criminal charges by the Legal Service.

The AKEL MP indeed pointed out that this was not the first time that serious issues had ended up in court and justice had not been done.

He added that it is a recurring practice of the Legal Service to attribute the stagnation observed on cases to the lack of expertise.

A.Damianou noted that citizen’s personal data had been violated and if anything the authorities must provide answers.
