AKEL-CTP MEET TO DISCUSS CONCRETE ACTIONS

AKEL NICOSIA-KYRENIA ORGANIZATION, 24th November 2016

ctp akel A meeting was held today between delegations of the Secretariat of the AKEL Nicosia – Kyrenia District Organization with the corresponding Committee of the Republican Turkish Party. The meeting took place in occupied Nicosia.

The delegation from the AKEL Nicosia – Kyrenia District Organization was headed by Christos Christofides, District Secretary and included Organizational Secretary Stavros Gerolatsitis, Secretary of the City Organization Costas Koukos, Secretary of the Rural Organization Panicos Panayi, and Toula Antoniou Member of the District Secretariat.

During the meeting the latest developments on the Cyprus problem were discussed. The common will that the two delegations expressed was the need for such negotiations to continue and lead to a mutually acceptable solution. At the same time, they expressed their commitment to a bizonal, bicommunal federation as the only feasible solution that can reunite our country.

Furthermore, the two delegations discussed how to strengthen the common struggle of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots. It was decided that in the coming period concrete actions and activities should be organized in this direction. The two committees will meet again soon.
