AKEL calls for a mass participation in the big Peace March this Sunday

AKEL raises its voice together with the millions of people and peace movements around the world in demanding an end to the war in Gaza. It calls on the Cypriot people to participate en masse in the Peace March organised by the Cyprus Peace Council, together with dozens of organisations and movements, on Sunday 3 December 2023, at 3:00pm, from Eleftherias Square, Nicosia.

• We demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire, an end to the war and genocide being committed against the Palestinian people, uninterrupted humanitarian aid to the population of the Gaza Strip.
• We call for a two state solution in the Middle East, implementing the UN Resolutions: an end to the Israeli occupation and colonisation, the declaration of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, next to the State of Israel.
• We oppose any kind of involvement of Cyprus in the war, any use of the territory of Cyprus for waging military attacks or to facilitate the Israeli war machine.

The people of Cyprus – itself a victim of war, occupation and colonisation – must stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine, who have been subjected for decades to Israeli brutality and gross violations of international law.
