Congratulatory Letter to the newly elected WFTU General Secretary Pambis Kyritsis

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL Stefanos Stefanou sent a congratulatory letter to the newly elected General Secretary of the World Trade Union Federation (WFTU) Comrade Pambis Kyritsis. The main part of the letter follows:

 

“On behalf of the Central Committee of AKEL, I warmly congratulate you on your election to the position of General Secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU).

Your election to the leadership of the WFTU is an honor for all of us. For the working people of Cyprus and the Pancyprian Federation of Labour (PEO) that you served for years from the position of General Secretary. It is an honor for AKEL and the People’s Movement of Cyprus of which the PEO is an integral part. For our homeland and people.

The prestige and universal esteem PEO enjoys among the ranks of the WFTU, as well as your long-standing contribution to local and international trade union affairs contributed decisively to your election as General Secretary of the Federation.

We are convinced that you will fully respond to your new tasks, to the challenges and objectives that have been set by the 18th Congress of the WFTU. We are confident that you will fulfill your new tasks, as always, with absolute competence and success.”
