The Central Committee of AKEL on the passing away of actor and musician Giorgos Lori

The Central Committee of AKEL expresses its profound sorrow at the passing away of the creator of culture Giorgos Lori, who made such a significant contribution to the cultural, social and political life of Cyprus.

Giorgos Loris was a great and authentic talent, both in the art of theatre and music. A pioneer and a radical, he participated in the founding of theatre groups and collaborated with leading artists such as Marios Tokas, being the first of all to perform their songs.

Fully aware of his duty as a cultural creator, Giorgos Loris marched together with our people throughout all the difficult and tragic moments of its modern history. His voice, expressive and dynamic, was the voice of the suffering Cypriot people.

A fighter to the end, Giorgos Loris marched from an early age on the same path as the Progressive Party of the Working People AKEL, serving as a member of the Party, of the Limassol District Committee of AKEL, as well as a member of the Central Committee of AKEL.

The Central Committee of AKEL expresses its deepest condolences to the relatives and family of Giorgos Lori.
