Turkey´s new provocative action intensifies tension

AKEL is following with great concern Turkey’s actions in the Aegean.

The issuing of a Notification to Airmen (NOTAM) reserving regions in the Aegean within Greek airspace until the end of 2015 represents a serious provocation that must be answered through concerted political actions. This new provocation exacerbates the tension and is undermining stability in the wider region.

We expect the international community to demonstrate the necessary sensitivity to halt the Turkish provocativeness and call for the withdrawal of the Turkish NOTAM.
