The President evidently considers those serving our country’s well-intentioned interests are those who don’t criticize him

Statement by AKEL C.C. Spokesperson Stefanos Stefanou

AKEL C.C. Press Office, 27 October 2018, Nicosia

Mr. Anastasiades evidently considers that those serving our country’s well-intentioned interests are those who don’t criticize him. As long as AKEL backed the negotiation procedure in which the President was involved, Mr. Anastasiades was characterizing AKEL as a patriotic and responsible Party. Now he has changed his view because the President can’t stand criticism.

AKEL considers that the one who serves our country’s well-intentioned interests – and primarily the President of the Republic who is handling the Cyprus problem – is the one who is working in a focused and consistent way to achieve a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus problem on the agreed basis of the solution, that is to say Bizonal, Bi-communal Federation.

Citizens understand and judge who remains consistent to the goal of the solution, and who is vacillating supporting various ideas and views which he never bothers to explain.
