The government ruling forces continue to hide
Statement by AKEL Political Bureau member and MP A.Damianou

At the same time as the Anastasiades-DISY government continues on its familiar path of denial and smokescreens, the European Parliament is debating the major issue of wiretapping/surveillance.
The evidence implicating the Anastasiades government and our state in illegal eavesdropping/surveillance is real and the blackout that the Presidential Office and the ruling DISY party are trying to impose will not pass.
Unfortunately, once again the Republic of Cyprus is being exposed, the rule of law and human rights are being violated, now and then with the acquiescence and sometimes with the complicity of the government ruling forces.
We repeat the key questions that need to be answered:
What links/ties connect the black spy van, the activities of Israelis Dillian and Avni, the Predator spy software and the activities of the Israeli NSO Group with the Cypriot police and the Central Intelligence Agency (KYP)?
How do the government ruling forces respond to the overwhelming evidence that daily sees the light of day and which implicates in a well-documented way Cyprus in the illegal spying/eavesdropping network?
