The annual Award for Services to Sports of the C.C. of AKEL is awarded to Loukas Kalogirou and Nikos Yiatrou

The award ceremony of the Award for Services to Sports “Kostas Limbouris – Nikis Georgiou” of the Central Committee of AKEL for 2021 will take place next Monday 2021, at 7.15 pm. The Award will be presented to Loukas Kalogirou, champion of classical and team sports, coach and educator, and Nikos Yiatrou, a pioneer of rural and women’s football, personification of voluntary contribution.
The Award will be presented by the General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, who will be the keynote speaker at the event, which will be interspersed with musical interventions by Anastasia Hasikos (piano) and Maria Kasinou (violin). Short films about the honored persons will be shown, edited by sports journalist George Meletiou. The event will be honored by the presence of the Presidents or representatives of the Cyprus Sports Organisation KOA, sports/athletic organisations KOE, KOEAS, STOK, the Sports Journalists Trade Union, and others agencies/organisations who appreciate the contribution made by those to be honored.
The event, which will be held at the Journalist’s House in Nicosia, will follow all the Ministry of Health protocols and will be attended by only one hundred and five (105) people who have made a reservation.
