Over 350 members and friends of AKEL staff the new AKEL Policy Sectors

6 November 2021, AKEL C.C. Press Office, Nicosia

More than 350 members and friends of AKEL staff the Policy Sectors set up by AKEL to elaborate policies and programmatic positions in every sector of society, the economy, institutions and the state.

Men and women, with a strong element of renewal, members of AKEL and people from the broader left spectrum – scientists, academics, activists, trade unionists, professionals, militants of mass organisations and social movements, local authority and parliamentary officials – participate in the Policy Sectors and auxiliary Bureaus of the Party, whose new structure and composition was approved by the Central Committee of AKEL yesterday.

With this new structure, AKEL is taking another step in modernising its operation with an emphasis on the elaboration of modern policies and positions on the small and big issues facing the country and the people today. At the same time, AKEL is proceeding to a new opening to society and the younger generation in particular to participate in the production of proposals and positions.
