Militant vigilance needed against nationalist and fascist elements

AKEL denounces the fascist actions and hooliganism of a group of extreme nationalist elements at the memorial service to pay homage to Isaac and Solomos carried out against representatives of the state and political parties.

Such fascist behaviour is dangerous and catastrophic for our country. AKEL calls on our people to be on militant vigilance against these nationalist and fascist elements. Besides, our people have very painful and distressing experiences from the actions of fascism and nationalism/chauvinism; actions which brought the Turkish Attila army and the Turkish occupation. The government and state, the political parties and society must isolate and not show any tolerance to these forces.

AKEL will continue working in this direction.
