Message of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) to the 23rd Congress:

«Dear comrades:
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Peoples of
Spain (PCPE), we send you sincere and fraternal greetings for the celebration of
your 23rd Congress.
We understand and highlight the effort AKEL is making to be able to gather all
your delegates, who will be working between the 2nd and 4th of July in a congress
which celebrates the 95 years of existence of the Party.
The situation of COVID-19 pandemic forced to change the dates of such an
important event for the Cypriot people, since AKEL is the organization which
actively deploys its tactics for the benefit and interest of the working class and
the other popular strata.
Cyprus’ strategical position, nearby the armed warfare steadily taking place in
the Near East, turn it into a key factor, given the short distance between its
territory and the fights for hegemony where violence reaches its highest levels.
Thus, the Cypriot people faces a division of its territory that reduces and cuts off
their sovereignty and independence. PCPE supports the reunification of the
country, which will favour the unity of its working class.
Dear delegates, comrades all of you, we insist in our initial greeting, convinced
that your work in these days will succeed as an important advance for the
consciousness which will guarantee victory under the conditions that class
struggle imposes on us.
