Letter of the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL to the Prime Minister of Greece

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL Andros Kyprianou today sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Alexis Tsipras, expressing the solidarity of the Central Committee of the Party to the political leadership and the Greek people for the deadly fires that have struck the country.

The letter is as follows:

“Your Excellency, Prime Minister of Greece,

As the Central Committee of AKEL we expresses our solidarity with the Greek people, who is once again suffering harshly as a result of the deadly fires which have broken out over the last 24 hours. The loss of human lives and the enormous material damage make this a tragedy of immense proportions about which it is impossible to explain in words.

The Central Committee of AKEL is at the side of the Greek government, the political world and the Greek people during these difficult times, with the wish that the nightmare will end without any other victims and with the least possible damage.
