Letter of the General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL to the General Secretary of the C.C. of the Communist Party of Greece

The General Secretary of the Central Committee of AKEL Andros Kyprianou sent to the General Secretary of the C.C. of the KKE Demetris Koutsoumbas a message of solidarity and support to the Greek people.

The letter is as follows:

“Dear comrade Demetris,

AKEL expresses its full solidarity and support towards the people of Greece, who are once again going through harsh times as a result of the catastrophic and deadly fires over the last few days.

We express our deepest sorrow and shock at the loss of human lives and enormous destruction caused.

As AKEL we will do everything possible to contribute towards the relief of the victims.

Please pass on our solidarity to the victims and the fire-fighters, who are waging the battle to put out the fires and our sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
