Immediate vaccination of those who did not register when the online portal was opened for them

The feelings of distraught and anger caused by the freezing of the possibility of vaccination to those who did not make use of the opportunity they had when the online portal was opened for them, we believe are completely justified.
Whatever the reason for this decision may be, the Ministry of Health must immediately give once again those affected the possibility of getting the vaccine jab.
The small quantities of vaccines available due to the erroneous handlings made at an EU, but also national level, combined with the concern unfortunately provoked by the Astra-Zeneka vaccines which represent approximately 50% of the vaccines Cyprus had pre-purchased, are themselves more than enough problems and the government doesn’t need to add any more.
Given the fact that vaccination remains the only effective way to deal with the pandemic and its effects on public health, the economy and society at large, as AKEL we once again call on our compatriots to proceed with vaccination, as the experts recommend.
