Government’s actions to expose Ankara are inefficient

4th June 2020, Dialogos portal

These actions are unacceptable and illegal and the international community must intervene, the General Secretary of AKEL A.Kyprianou noted.

A.Kyprianou pointed out, however, that the government’s declarations in recent years that it had shielded our country’s Exclusive Economic Zone with its actions could not be forgotten.

Mr. Kyprianou said the government’s actions to expose Ankara were inefficient and that this was due to the fact that among a section of the international community an erroneous misconception has prevailed that the Greek Cypriot side had not done what was needed to resolve the Cyprus problem.

The General Secretary of AKEL noted that the recent positions expressed by European Union officials are on the one hand welcome, but they are not going to solve the problems Turkey is provoking.
