AKEL replies to the Government Spokesman

If AKEL’s advice annoys the President and DISY, then their problem is AKEL, not partition

The only one who thought of discussing Turkey’s demands was Mr. Anastasiades, who, under the cover offered by the ruling DISY party, was discussing a two state solution behind the backs of the Cypriot people. These are the very same people who, when the occupying power Turkey was proceeding to implement its plans for the colonalisation of Varosha, said that these were “communication tricks”.

We, on the contrary, have been pointing out for years now that the Greek Cypriot side must act effectively to thwart the Turkish plans for the permanent partition of Cyprus and the colonalisation of Varosha. If this advice annoys the President of the Republic and the ruling DISY party, then their problem is AKEL, not partition.
