The Democratic Party DIKO has every right to seek excuses to criticize AKEL, if that is its wish. However, we expect that it does so within the framework of mutual respect, without any insulting references and after being informed correctly. We therefore consider it pointless to address offensive references about festivals under the banner of the pseudo-state.
Furthermore, we inform the friends of DIKO that AKEL has on several occasions expressed its genuine solidarity towards the two Turkish Cypriot activists Cinel Senem Husseyin and Koray Basdogrultmaci, while AKEL MEP Neoklis Sylikiotis has raised the issue before the European Commission.
However, AKEL will never accept becoming a tail of certain organized groups and situations who have remembered the existence of the Turkish Cypriots and/or the Cyprus flag in 2015, having as their main motive the promotion of their position against the federal solution of the Cyprus problem.
