Congratulations letters of AKEL on the election of Tabare Vazquez at the Presidency of Uruguay

 

The General Secretary of the C.C. AKEL Andros Kyprianou has sent today congratulations letters to the “Broad Front” (Frente Amplio) and the President of the Communist Party of Uruguay Victorio Casartelli on the election of Tabare Vazquez at the Presidency of Uruguay as well for the successful results in the General elections. (The C.P. of Uruguay runs the elections within the “Broad Front”)

The main part of the letters to the “Broad Front” and the Communist Party of Uruguay:

“I would like to convey the warm congratulations of the Central Committee of AKEL and myself for the election of Tabaré Vazquez to the Presidency of Uruguay and the successful results for the Communist Party of Uruguay and Frente Amplio at the Parliamentary elections.

This result is a victory of the people of Uruguay that once again expressed its support towards the progressive reforms that have been implemented during the years of Frente Amplio’s presidency. Furthermore, the victory strengthens the path for the progressive socioeconomic integration of the countries of the Latin America and the Caribbean, a course in which Uruguay plays a significant role.

Our Party is looking forward to further enhance relations with the Communist Party of Uruguay and the leadership and people of Uruguay.”
