Andros Kyprianou visits the enclaved people in occupied areas

 AKEL enclaved ppl visitThe General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL Andros Kyprianou today visited the enclaved people in Rizokarpaso, as well as the Primary School and High School.

The General Secretary of AKEL was warmly welcomed by the enclaved people, whom he briefed on developments surrounding the Cyprus problem and reassured them that AKEL will continue to struggle for the solution of the Cyprus problem and the reunification of our homeland. Furthermore, he discussed with them the particular problems they face, mainly regarding the need to implement a program for the maintenance of houses that were repaired long ago.

The General Secretary of AKEL also visited the Primary School and High School in Rizokarpaso where he had the opportunity to discuss with school students and with the Board of the schools the need for the provision of quality education to the children of the enclaved people and the need to allocate all the necessary supplies to the children so that they have equal opportunities in education. At the same time, he discussed with the teachers of the Rizokarpaso High School about the setting up of educational programs for all the enclaved people, which will be based on voluntary work. Andros Kyprianou congratulated the teachers on the way they are fulfilling their duties in difficult and adverse conditions.

The General Secretary of the C.C. of AKEL was accompanied in his visit by cadres and MP’s of the AKEL Famagusta District Organisation. The AKEL Delegation distributed to all the children gifts and expressed the wish that the New Year will bring to Cyprus and its people the vindication and much-desired solution.
