An AKEL delegation participated in the 13th World Socialism Forum in Beijing themed “Building a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity and the Development of World Socialism”

A delegation of AKEL participated in the 13th World Forum for Socialism, which took place on 28-30 November in Beijing. The Forum was organised by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and was attended by 73 delegates from 33 countries. The Forum discussed in depth the common effort to build a socialist future for all humanity, the experience and example of China, as well as the experiences and problems facing Communist and Workers’ Parties internationally.

The AKEL delegation subsequently participated in the international academic conference entitled “The Values of Political Parties and Human Civilization”, which was organized by the CASS Marxist Academy and the School of Marxism of Shandong University, and the international symposium entitled “The Chinese Modernization Road and World Socialist Construction”, which was organized by the Marxist Academy of Suzhou University.

During its stay, in addition to Beijing, the AKEL delegation visited the cities of Jinin, Qufu and Suzhou, where it had the opportunity to see China’s development in various fields, its deep cultural tradition and the formation of Chinese culture and thought.

The AKEL delegation consisted of Katerina Neophytou, member of the Central Control Committee and Chrysostomos Pashiardis, member of the Central Committee and Head of the Central Ideological Bureau.
