AKEL’s message to the Communist Party of Vietnam for the 45th anniversary of the Vietnamese people’s victory

On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Vietnamese people’s victory over American imperialism, AKEL sent a message to the Communist Party and Government of Vietnam. The text of the message is as follows:
“Dear comrades.
The Central Committee of AKEL conveys its warm comradely greetings to the Heroic people of Vietnam, to the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the historic anniversary of the victory of the Vietnamese people over American imperialism on April 30, 1975.
This titanic struggle and the proud victory of the Vietnamese people, led by the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, with the support of the socialist community and the international solidarity movement of the peoples, was and continues to be an eternal source of inspiration to the struggling peoples fighting for their independence and sovereignty, for their right to decide for themselves their country’s path of development and future.
Therefore, the victory of the Vietnamese people is a victory of all struggling peoples who believe in justice and are fighting for peace, for a world where the principles of international law and the respect for the UN Charter will prevail.
We deeply appreciate the achievements of the Vietnamese government and people who, overcoming the devastation and suffering of the war, have been able to chart new avenues for the well-being and prosperity of the people of the country. Vietnam’s example in confronting the coronavirus pandemic is a characteristic example of this path.
On this occasion, we reaffirm our will to further strengthen the fraternal relations between our Parties.
