AKEL will not be an accomplice to Mr. Anastasiades’ passive, to say the least, stand which is leading to partition

Statement by the General Secretary of AKEL A.Kyprianou

AKEL C.C. Press Office, 19 January 2019, Nicosia

Government Spokesperson Mr. Prodromou probably thinks he is addressing fools, in his attempts to mislead public opinion. We remind Mr. Prodromou that the outcome of the Crans Montana talks was not judged on Wednesday, but on Thursday evening, Friday dawn with the dinner that took place. With regards that dinner, we remind Mr. Prodromou that the UN Secretary-General praised Turkey’s stand and criticized the stand of both Mr. Anastasiades and Mr. Akinci. Why don’t gossipy Mr. Anastasiades and Mr. Prodromou denounce the Secretary General for the report he submitted if they disagree with what he says?

AKEL will stop criticizing Mr. Anastasiades’ stand when he will get serious and proves that he realises how many dangers are looming for the future of Cyprus and the Cypriot people as a whole. AKEL will not be an accomplice in the – to say the least – passive stand of Mr. Anastasiades which is leading to the partition of Cyprus.
