AKEL supports the ‘Federal Solution Now’ rally

AKEL supports and calls for a mass participation in the ‘Federal Solution Now’ rally organised by the bi-communal ‘United Cyprus’ Initiative to mark the visit of the UN Secretary-General to Cyprus.

The rally will take place on Tuesday, 28 July at 6.30 pm at the entrance to the Office of the UN Representative (opposite the University of Nicosia).

At the same time, a parallel rally will be held in the occupied areas (at the roundabout after the Agios Dometios roadblock) by our Turkish Cypriot compatriots under the same banner.

We are joining forces with other organisations and with our compatriots who share the vision of a federal solution and the reunification of Cyprus and its people.

We are sending out a strong message – a resounding message – to the leaders of the two communities and the UN Secretary-General in support of a Bizonal, Bicommunal Federation based on political equality, in support of safeguarding the negotiation acquis and the Guterres Framework, on the basis of which negotiations must resume from the point at which they were suspended in 2017 to address the remaining issues.
