Meeting between the General Secretary of AKEL Stefanos Stefanou and AKEL cadres and friends who have held public office

Today we had a meeting with cadres and friends of AKEL who have held public office.

This meeting is part of the ongoing contacts we, as the Party leadership, maintain with people who, at various periods in time, have served public life, Cyprus, but also the Party itself and the Left movement.

At this meeting, we initiated a dialogue on developments in Cyprus and, more importantly, we initiated a discussion regarding the upcoming presidential elections and the need that exists, as well as the goal we have set to achieve progressive change in our country.

Progressive change in our country has a content. And this content begins with putting an end to the policies that have been implemented in recent years and which have led to the exacerbation of inequalities, the escalation of social problems, but also major shortcomings in social policy.

These are the very issues we wish to address through progressive change, so that we can restore hope to our society and to our people.
