inter ukraine cpAKEL Member of Parliament and member of the Political Bureau of the C.C. of AKEL Skevi Koukouma arrived in Ukraine yesterday to attend the trial taking place today that will rule on the appeal filed against the decisions of the Ukrainian government to outlaw the Communist Party of Ukraine. MP’s, MEP’s and representatives of movements from various countries of Europe will be in Kiev today to be on the side of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

As is known, for two years now, the criminalization of the activity of the Ukrainian communists, who opposed the pro-Western coup d’état and the ongoing bloodshed in eastern Ukraine, is being promoted with fast-track and illegal procedures

AKEL denounced and denounces t-he anti-communist witch hunt which is taking place in Ukraine and this was indeed one of the main reasons why AKEL voted against the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement last week in the House of Representatives.
