AKEL on the “Cyprus File”: The coupists have a name and address

5 November 2018, “Astra” radio station

Important documents of the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs of Greece, as well as other services, are missing from the “Cyprus File” that has been made public, former AKEL MP Aristophanes Georgiou and member of the Parliamentary Commission on the File of Cyprus pointed out to “Astra” radio station.

A.Georgiou also said that there are significant documents in Britain and the United States as well, which have not been declassified.

Aristophanes Georgiou reminded that the late historian Rolandos Katsiaounis, who served as a scientific collaborator of the House of Representatives on the “Cyprus File”, had submitted important documents that remain locked in a room.

The former AKEL MP stressed that all the evidence that has come to light prove that those who executed the 15th July 1974 coup d’état aren’t factious but persons with a name and address.

He also underlined that on every page of the File, the role of the Americans, Turkey’s expansionism and the treachery committed by the junta of Greece, which had the support of EOKA B, is apparent.

Aristophanes Georgiou added that the finding of the “Cyprus File” has also revealed and shattered the myths about the role both Grivas and Sampson played.
